Man Utd outcast hands Arsenal huge transfer twist as bid submitted after talks held

Arsenal could be prevented from signing another attacker in the final weeks of the summer transfer window by Manchester United star Jadon Sancho.

The Gunners have brought in six new players thus far which has seen them spend over £200million with Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi as the marquee additions while Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Cristhian Mosquera have been brought in to provide sufficient depth.

No significant permanent exits have gone through yet but interest in a number of fringe players has started to emerge. Reiss Nelson looks set for another loan move to Fulham while Stuttgart are in talks to sign Fabio Vieira.

A £23.4million offer from Porto was turned down for Jakub Kiwior but the Portuguese club have now seemingly switched their focus onto Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has also seen interest from Italy and Germany emerge.

With just 12 months remaining on his contract and no extension talks active, Leandro Trossard is seemingly another that is free to depart with several fresh updates on him and other moves potentially set to impact Arsenal.

According to X account @Indykaila, who had been credited by The Athletic's David Ornstein for revealing Manchester United's interest in Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, Aston Villa have made enquiries for Trossard.

This significant claim comes after Ornstein reported AS Roma's had opened talks for Leon Bailey, though he does have interest from Turkiye and Saudi Arabia. The Serie A side now look to be considering their options with Sancho emerging as one.

According toThe Times, Roma have made a bid to sign the United winger on a season-long loan. Their report claims they would ideally like to sign both Sancho and Bailey but that may not be possible.

United would prefer the Englishmen to depart on a permanent basis and Roma taking that route would likely make it difficult for Bailey to be signed as well. Jacob Ramsey joining Newcastle United could see Villa still pursue Trossard, but keeping at least one of him or Bailey, makes that unlikely following the arrival of Evann Guessand.

If the Belgium international stays at Emirates Stadium, a move being made for another wide forward is hard to foresee. If he and one of Nelson or Vieira sealed exits in the next few weeks, Andrea Berta may actively target another signing in attack with Arteta suggesting as such.

"Let's see what happens in terms of where the squad is at in the next few weeks," he admitted in a press conference earlier this month. "We are actively looking at options, there are a few players that may have to leave also."

As the Arsenal boss states, outgoings will be needed alongside any further business with that sure to be Berta's priority over the next few weeks.

If Roma opt to sign Sancho instead of Bailly, it could put Villa's move for Trossard in doubt and subsequently stop Arsenal from bringing in any more new faces.
