Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Introduction has been getting unanimous positive reactions and reviews on social media and users are excited to see Ranbir Kapoor as Ram.
I had previously written about my scepticism and reservations regarding Ramayana, largely stemming from the lingering trauma of Adipurush. And honestly, my stance hasn’t changed much. I’m still cautious and would prefer to see more promotional materials and glimpses from the film before I can feel fully convinced or excited about it.
While I am still sceptical about the movie and will wait for more promotional content from Namit Malhotra and team, I can definitely say that there is no better actor than Ranbir Kapoor in the current generation to portray Shri Ram.

Ranbir Kapoor has consistently proven his exceptional versatility across a variety of genres. From the emotionally intense Rockstar and Barfi! to the romantic charmer in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the complex Tamasha, he has effortlessly portrayed a wide spectrum of characters.
Lord Ram isn’t just a mythological figure; he’s a symbol of patience, morality, sacrifice, and inner conflict. The role requires an actor who can carry an understated strength, with the ability to balance compassion with righteous authority. Ranbir’s nuanced performances, especially in films like Tamasha, where he portrayed a character wrestling with his dual identities, demonstrate his skill in internalised acting, something essential for portraying Ram’s moral dilemmas and serene composure.
2. Best Actor of His GenerationMany critics and industry veterans regard Ranbir Kapoor as the finest actor of his generation. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Ranbir focuses deeply on character-driven performances rather than just mass appeal. His films, like Sanju and Rocket Singh, highlight his dedication to his craft.

In an epic like Ramayana, which demands both emotional depth and a strong screen presence, Ranbir’s acting prowess places him above most others in the current crop of actors.
3. Inherent Serenity and Calm DemeanourOne of Ranbir Kapoor’s most distinctive qualities is the natural serenity and calmness he carries on screen. His face has an innate softness and a composed aura, which perfectly aligns with the divine, composed nature of Lord Ram.
Whether it’s his subtle expressions in Barfi! or the quiet intensity in Tamasha, Ranbir’s ability to convey peace, inner strength, and wisdom through his eyes and expressions makes him an ideal fit for the role.
