latched onto a split-second reflex catch to get rid of Glenn Maxwell during the ongoing Match 22 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 8. A carrom ball brought about the end of the Australian, who had to head back to the pavilion for a single off two deliveries.
Backing away, Maxwell tried blasting it past Ashwin. The wily spinner got into a good position during his follow-through. Despite the ball slipping from his right hand due to the sheer power with which it was clobbered back, Ashwin's presence of mind was on point as he held on with his left hand. The off-spinner was understandably pumped up after the dismissal.
