New Delhi: After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference in Bihar, the BJP accused them of defaming the Election Commission with unfounded allegations of vote theft.
"Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav keep alleging that they won't let votes be stolen. These are lies and baseless accusations. In 2024, the Samajwadi Party won 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the BJP secured 33. Wasn't the same EC overseeing those polls? When the public votes for them, the Election Commission is fine, but when they lose, it becomes faulty," senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters in Patna.
Prasad cited examples from several state and Lok Sabha polls to back his charge.
He further advised Tejashwi that allying with Rahul Gandhi would only sink the RJD.
