Another belief is that the ancestors receive the feast of Shraddha through the rays of the sun. Since the Sun God rises from the east and comes into his full effect by noon, organizing Pinddaan and a feast in the afternoon is considered most appropriate. At this time, through the energy of the sun, the ancestors accept the devotion and sacrifices that have been made for them.
