Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The meeting on the Metro project saw BJP MLAs Rameshwar Sharma and Bhagwan Das Sabnani losing their cool as Metro officials have reportedly come to attend the meeting without full preparedness on Tuesday.
The other elected representatives have also registered their objections. In the entire meeting, Metro officials remained at the receiving end. Later, it was decided that the Metro project meeting shall be held after ten days in which Metro officials should come with comprehensive preparedness.
Rameshwar Sharma pitched for the construction of an elevated corridor so that road traffic does not get affected in any form. He demanded that the Metro elevated corridor shall be instead begin from Sikandarabad and extended till Bilkisganj Jhagaria and Bilkheria.
He said that on both sides of these routes, there are numerous educational institutions and daily 2k to 3k students commute up and down. If the Metro facility is extended till aforesaid areas, it will be of great help for thousands of students. Even the labourers residing in these areas will use the Metro by shunning their two-wheelers.
He questioned the extension of Metro till Bhadbhada by saying that what is the use of it as Bhadbhada is having a crematorium ground and there is no large population. He also said that first one Metro work shall be completed and after that another Metro work shall be taken up.
Meanwhile, MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani expressed his reservation by saying that the foundation work of Metro projects in his constituency were done without inviting him.
He demanded that he shall be informed about the project works and cost etc so that he should be able to tell people about these taking place in terms of the Metro project. Minister Chetan Kashyap was also present in the meeting which lasted for more than an hour.
