K-pop comebacks are always a spectacle, but TWICE's latest teaser for their upcoming album 'FOUR' has sparked more than just excitement. The 13-second clip, released ahead of the group's fourth full-length album, has ignited controversy online, with some netizens accusing the group of allegedly copying BLACKPINK's Jennie.
The 'BLUE' teaser that made headlines
TWICE's 'BLUE' teaser showcases all nine members of TWICE dressed in coordinated royal blue outfits featuring miniskirts, cropped tops, and sky-high heels. With the word FOUR emblazoned across their skirts and a pulsing, upbeat instrumental playing in the background, the teaser aims to pack a punch despite its short runtime.
However, many online users couldn't help but draw similarities between TWICE's look and Jennie’s visuals from her solo track 'ZEN'. In that now-viral concept, Jennie wore a similar blue ensemble paired with thigh-high socks and striking white braided hair, a look that became instantly iconic among K-pop communities.

K-pop fandom divided
Criticism began circulating quickly, with some netizens claiming that TWICE's concept seemed "derivative" and "too familiar". Comments like "Like like like Jennie," "This doesn’t feel fresh" and "Jennie’s beat wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card" surfaced across social media, with others even speculating that the teaser's sound echoed elements of ZEN.
Despite the criticism, TWICE's dedicated fanbase, ONCE, wasted no time defending the group. Supporters praised the visuals, applauded the fashion direction, and expressed excitement over the long-awaited comeback. "TWICE always bring their own flavour," one fan wrote. "They don’t need to copy anyone," another stated.
I thought I was listening to Jennie's song

I like how toxic Blink is jealous of this comeback and always see things toxic and nothing similar here. I get the song will be good if toxic is envious of Twice. I do like both group. I don’t like toxic fans.

More about TWICE's FOUR
It’s worth noting that FOUR is TWICE’s first full-length album since 2021’s Formula of Love: O+T=<3, which included chart-toppers like 'The Feels' and 'SCIENTIST'. With the album set to drop this July, anticipation is high, and whether or not comparisons continue, one thing is certain: TWICE’s return is already one of the most talked-about moments in K-pop this year.
