Indian Railways has announced a special weekly train service to run between Madgaon Junction and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai. The special service, numbered Train No. 01502/01501, is aimed at easing passenger traffic and improving connectivity during the high-demand period.
This weekly special is expected to provide significant relief to passengers traveling between Goa and Mumbai, especially during the post-Independence Day weekend rush.
Train No. 01502: Madgaon Jn. - Lokmanya Tilak (T) Weekly Special
This special train will depart from Madgaon Junction at 4:30 PM on Sunday, 17th August 2025, and will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) at 6:00 AM the following morning (Monday, 18th August 2025).
Train No. 01501: Lokmanya Tilak (T) - Madgaon Jn. Weekly Special
The return journey will see Train No. 01501 depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 8:30 AM on Monday, 18th August 2025, reaching Madgaon Junction at 10:40 PM the same day.
Route & Halts
The train will halt at the following stations en route: Karmali, Thivim, Sawantwadi Road, Kudal, Sindhudurg, Kankavali, Vaibhavwadi Road, Rajapur Road, Vilavade, Adavali, Ratnagiri, Sangameshwar Road, Chiplun, Khed, Mangaon, Roha, Pen, Panvel, and Thane.
Coach Composition
The train will run with 20 modern LHB coaches, ensuring a safer and smoother ride. The coach composition includes:
AC 2 Tier – 1 coach
AC 3 Tier – 3 coaches
AC 3 Tier Economy – 2 coaches
Sleeper Class – 8 coaches
General Unreserved – 4 coaches
SLR (Seating-cum-Luggage Rake) – 1 coach
Generator Car – 1 coach

Reservations for Train No. 01502 will open on Tuesday, 12th August 2025 across all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters, as well as through the IRCTC website and mobile app.
