Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has figured in top three States that have accelerated Capex spends in the first quarter of financial year 2026.
Sixteen states have recorded an increase in Capex compared to last year. Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh stand out with 65%, 42 % and 41% growth respectively in capex spending in the first quarter. Madhya Pradesh has achieved an outstanding position so far.
Notably, Centre and States have together accelerated Capex spending speedily in the first quarter of FY 26. Central Government data on provisional capex between April to June 2025 show a growth of 5% at Rs 275132 crore.

As CAG data reveal, the details of 23 states have clocked aggregate capex of Rs 99478 crore in quarter first compared to Rs 81,494 crore in the same period last year representing 22% growth. Madhya Pradesh has also achieved prosperity by joining the club of prosperous states.
