Mumbai News: BMC Conducts 'Fire Safety Awareness Rally' Covering Vikhroli & Mulund Fire Stations

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced the 'Fire Safety Awareness Rally' held in Mumbai on April 5. The event was organised under the 'Fire Service Week'.

The rally started from Vikhroli Fire Station and ended at the Mulund Fire Station. Chief Fire Officer Mr. Ravindra Ambulgekar, Deputy Chief Fire Officer Mr Anil Parab, Deputy Chief Fire Officer Mr Atmaram Mishra, and other officials were present at the rally.

The Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Prashant Gaikwad flagged off the rally. The primary aim of the rally was to inform citizens about the Mumbai Fire Department's services and to raise awareness about fire safety measures among the public.

In a recent post on X, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) shared details of the Fire Safety Awareness Rally, which took place on Saturday. The rally began at the Vikhroli Fire Station and made its way to the Mulund Fire Station. The BMC shared the pictures of the rally on X.

BMC Imposes Rs. 1,000 Fine For Burning Waste In Open Air

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced a fine of Rs 1,000 for burning waste in open spaces in Mumbai. In a post shared on X this Friday, BMC informed the public that this penalty, which has been in effect since April 1, will be imposed on those who violate the rule.

The post also highlighted that to ensure compliance, a three-member enforcement squad has been assigned to each ward. The team includes junior supervisors, nuisance detector staff, and mukadums.

"Burning waste in open spaces releases toxic gases and harmful particles, which lower air quality and increase the risk of respiratory illnesses. Let’s avoid this for the well-being of our society. A clean and beautiful Mumbai is a shared responsibility," they added in post.
