The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) website has been non-functional for over a week, causing significant inconvenience to several advocates and litigants. When attempting to access judgments for the month of April, the site redirects users to a link stating: “Please click here for data prior to 31 August, 2021.”
An advocate practicing in the NCLT confirmed the ongoing issue with the website but declined to comment further.
When FPJ contacted an official from the tribunal, the officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, affirmed the issue. “Yes, the website has been non-functional for quite some time. However, there is nothing that the NCLT staff can do, as we are performing our duties and updating the necessary details on time. The issue lies with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which manages the tribunal’s website. We have been informed that a software update is underway, which has resulted in the site’s downtime. This issue is not limited to the NCLT alone; several other tribunal websites, including those for consumer commissions, have also been affected.”
Officials further stated that until the NIC resolves the technical issues and restores smooth functioning, the problem is likely to persist.
Similarly, websites of the consumer commissions have been non-functional for over five months. Advocates have been facing considerable difficulties and have repeatedly raised the issue with the authorities. However, the response remains the same—that the website is undergoing updates.
The continued technical issues have left both consumers and legal professionals struggling with disrupted services and delayed access to crucial case-related information.
