The latest episode on WWE Smack Down took place at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa as the things further heated up Undisputed champion John Cena and challenger Randy Orton. Although it was only Orton appearing on Smack Down, he didn't back down from issuing Cena a challenge to punt him at WWE Backlash.

They went on to compete in a one-on-one match, with Priest winning it by disqualification after Solo Sikoa came out to throw him in the barricade. Jacob Fatu also emerged, teaming up with Sikoa and the pair came out tall after attacking Priest and Knight.
The following match on Smack Down took place between The Miz and Aleister Black, with the latter winning after hitting the Black Mass to pick up an easy victory. The women's division was next in action as Zelina Vega faced Piper Niven. Vega emerged triumphant by rolling up Niven.
Meanwhile, the segment involving Orton began next as the 14-time world champion made his way out and hugged a young fan before entering the ring. The 45-year-old took a brutal dig at Cena by calling him a cartoon character and vowed to punt him on his head before hitting the RKO.
The main event of the night was a tag team match - Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax and Naomi. After Stratton and Cargill won, Naomi hit the latter with the Kiss Dafeeet and raised the women's title, expressing her willingness to become the champion.
