The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday decided to postpone IPL 2025 (IPL 2025 suspended) due to the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The BCCI also discussed the matter with the central government and then took this important decision.
The BCCI official confirmed the suspension of IPL in a conversation with PTI and said, 'It does not look good that the country is in a state of war and cricket is being played.' It is known that the final of IPL 2025 was to be played in Kolkata on 25 May. Earlier, the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been shifted to UAE.
Indication received from Punjab-Delhi match
Remind that the 58th match of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled in Dharamsala on Thursday. Due to tension on the border between India and Pakistan, it was decided to cancel the match midway. From here, indications started coming that a big decision could be taken on IPL 2025.
In this match, the team of Punjab Kings was batting first and scored 122 runs after losing one wicket in 10.1 overs. Then one floodlight of the ground was turned off and gradually all the floodlights were turned off and the spectators were safely evacuated.
Drone attack
Let us tell you that Pakistan attacked with drones, due to which a blackout was declared in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur. All these cities are around Dharamshala. India also retaliated and destroyed six missiles of Pakistan and also shot down several drones.
How many matches left
Let us tell you that a total of 16 matches were left in IPL 2025. There were 12 league matches and others were knockout matches. The first and second qualifiers, eliminator and final match were left in the playoffs. The final match of IPL 2025 was to be played on 25 May at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
