A star has spoken out on the tragic after he finished performing. 11 people have been killed after , with around 20 left injured.
Local police have since arrested the driver of the vehicle. The tragic incident took place at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday night – close to East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street.
Police have said that the vehicle entered the street at 8.14pm and struck people who were in attendance. The man behind the wheel of the car was initially apprehended by bystanders at the festival. Interim Vancouver Police Chief Steve Rai said the person in custody was a "lone male" who was "known to police in certain circumstances".

Now, who had been performing at the event just moments before has spoken out on social media. In a statement, the musician said: "Our hearts are broken for the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the tragedy at the Lapu-Lapu Festival.
"J-Rey and I had just finished performing and left the stage minutes before it happened. It's hard to describe the shock and the heaviness we feel. Thank you to everyone who's checked in your love means the .
"Please keep the victims, their families, and the organisers in your prayers. They need all the love and strength right now. The one thing I have noticed from the audience to the messages sent around, is the sense of community that wraps its loving arms around us. We love you all."
J-Rey also expressed his heartache. He said: "We came to Vancouver to celebrate and be with our community.. devastated beyond words to learn about the tragedy that unfolded. Still in shock. Thoughts and prayers to everyone and all the families affected. Sending love and prayers to all the Filipinos in BC."

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has since said that an investigation is underway to "determine how and why this horrific attack occurred." He added: "Authorities have confirmed one person is custody and it is believed they acted alone." The man in custody is a 30-year-old. Carney added that authorities do not believe there is any active threat to Canadians.
"At this time, we are confident that this incident was not an act of terrorism," the police department posted early on Sunday. The Lapu Lapu Day Block Party is a yearly Filipino cultural event held in Vancouver's Sunset on Fraser neighbourhood. This year's festivities included food, music, and cultural performances.

In a statement from , the King said: "Both my wife and I were profoundly saddened to learn of the dreadful attack and utterly tragic loss of life in Vancouver, which took place as the Filipino community came together to mark the celebration of one of their most special festivals.
"Our hearts and prayers go out to all those whose lives have been shattered by such a desperate tragedy and we send our deepest possible sympathy at a most agonizing time for so many in Canada" The message was signed from Charles R.
