Dunelm's modern take on a wall light that handily doesn't need a costly electrician installation is turning heads. As attractive as wall lights are, people are often put off by the professional wiring that's required to get them hooked up to the mains and ready to go.
But Dunelm has a range of products offering a way around that via a selection of lights that simply plug in. While traditional wires tend to be a bit unsightly, these wall lights combat that via a more sleek looking wire that hangs naturally and blends in with the overall aesthetic.
One product that's particularly popular also comes with a built in shelf, making it well-suited for a bedside table or reading nook. The Fulton Plug In Wall Light with Shelf is priced at £70 from the retailer.

The shelf comes with a rustic pine finish, while the lightbulb is exposed, meaning shoppers can add a stylish bulb to give it an added pop. Dunelm says that the lack of challenging wiring makes it "perfect for renters", though do be mindful that it will need fixing to a wall and some people may need to check with their landlord before drilling any holes.
The cable reaches 1.8m, so keep in mind if you have a socket that will reach. If the £70 shelf is a bit pricey, Amazon stocks a much cheaper product in the form of the £55.89 KEESFU Plug in Wall Lights. They have an industrial style about them and come in a set of two, meaning the lights work out at a more affordable £28 each.
The Amazon lights also have an adjustable height option which is quite a added nice feature. B&Q also stocks similar options like the Harbour Studio Vara Plug-in LED Wall light priced at £37 per light. It features an elegant antique brass finish that B&Q says "adds a touch of vintage charm to your space".
Back to the Dunelm shelf lamp, reviewers have been full of praise for the product, with it averaging out at 4.6 stars out of 5. One of those reviewers said: "These look amazing, look more expensive than they are, excellent quality and very easy to install, I was surprised how much light they give, the shelf is very handy too. Highly recommend."
Another went on: "I’m quite happy with this lamp. Frees up space on your bedside table." However, there was one buyer who was less impressed, saying: "It’s nice, but probably a little pricey for what it is."
