The doors of Shri Dudheshwarnath Temple in Ghaziabad will remain closed after noon on Sunday due to Chandra Grahan (Chandra Grahan 2025). Due to the lunar eclipse visible in India on September 7, the doors will be closed after Sutak in the temple and will open on Monday morning. Kusha will be used to keep the environment clean during the eclipse. There will be Akhand Jaap in the temple. Other temples in the city will also remain closed.
The doors of Shri Dudheshwarnath temple will remain closed on Sunday afternoon due to lunar eclipse (Lunar Eclipse 2025). It was told in the temple that the lunar eclipse will be visible in India on September 7. Due to which the doors of the temple will remain closed during the eclipse.
The temple's Peethadheeshwar Narayan Giri Maharaj said that the lunar eclipse of 7 September will start at 9:58 pm. It will end at 1:26 am. The Sutak of lunar eclipse starts 9 hours before and the Sutak of solar eclipse starts 12 hours before.
On Sunday, the Sutak of the lunar eclipse will start at 12:56 pm. Due to the Sutak, the doors of the temple will be closed after the Aarti and Bhog at 12 noon. They will open after the Aarti at 1 am on Monday, September 8.
The doors will remain closed on Sunday evening. All the saints, sages and teachers of the temple and the students of Shri Dudheshwar Veda Vidya Sansthan will do Akhand Jaap from 12 noon to 12 midnight on Sunday. This Jaap will go on for 12 hours continuously.
Shrimahant Narayan Giri Maharaj said that one should not do pooja-paath during eclipse. One should only chant the name of one's Ishtadev. This pleases the Ishtadev and he showers his blessings on the devotees. Narayan Giri Maharaj said that the environment remains polluted during eclipse and this defect is removed by using kusha. This is why kusha is used during lunar eclipse.
After the lunar eclipse ends, the temple will be purified, the clothes of the deities will be changed, aarti will be performed and bhog will be offered to them. The doors of the temple will be opened for the devotees at 4 am on Monday. Apart from this, the doors of other temples across the city will also be closed before the Sutak period.
