Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her apartment in Karachi on Tuesday. She is believed to have died about nine months ago, in October 2024. Her funeral took place in Lahore on Friday evening. A few days after her funeral, Humaira's close friend Dureshvar released the last voice note sent by the actress to her. It is now being widely shared on social media. In the voice note, Humaira is heard saying, "I was traveling, got stuck here and there. I am very happy you are in Mecca. Please do lots of pray for me.... please for me... Pray a lot from your heart for your sweet friend/sister. For my career, remember me in your prayers. You have to pray a lot for me.."

After conducting Humaira Asghar Ali's post-mortem, forensic experts said her body was in the "advanced stages of decomposition", making it difficult to identify her. "Muscle tissue was completely missing in some parts of the body, and bones began to break on touch. The brain was completely decomposed and the internal organs had turned into a black mass. Cartilage was missing in the joints, however, no fractures were found in the bones," the report said. These details, experts say, could help determine the environmental conditions in which she lay undisturbed.
According to the postmortem report, there was no spinal cord as the body was badly decomposed. The report further states that brown maggots were present, especially in the hair. The exact cause of Humaira's death is yet to be ascertained due to the extreme decomposition of the body. Initial reports suggest that it was a natural death and no foul play is suspected.
