The England Lionesses are back-to-back European champions after a famous victory in Switzerland. They drew 1-1 with Spain after 120 minutes before an agonising penalty shoot-out, where Chloe Kelly and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton emerged as the heroes to kickstart celebrations.
Mariona Caldentey gave Spain the lead after 25 minutes in a first half where the opposition largely dominated the ball, while Lauren James was forced off through injury.
She made way for Kelly, who brought urgency to the match and provided an assist for Alessia Russo on the 57-minute mark, who rose highest to head past Cata Coll.
Neither team were able to get a winner in 90 minutes or extra time, before England won on spot kicks, after Hampton saved twice from 12 yards and Kelly stepped up to blast the winner into the top corner.
