ITV The Chase's Shaun Wallace issues demand as player left devastated after loss

Shaun Wallace issued a stern demand after one player made a huge error on The Chase. The Dark Destroyer faced David, Lynn, Sunny, and Nathalie from London during Friday's instalment of the ITV quiz show, and looked to have his work cut out for him. Glasgow-born David set the team up perfectly, sailing through to the final chase with £4,000. Lynn, who hails from Newport Pagnell, added to the prize pot with another £6,000. The team were on top form as Sunny also outran the chaser, taking the team's overall total to £15,000.

However, their hopes of a full house were dashed when Shaun got the better of London-based Nathalie, knocking her out before she could add a further £3,000 to the prize money. The final chase came around and the team were tasked with answering as many questions as possible in two minutes. One question in the final round was: "Glendronach is a variety of which spirit?"

Sunny buzzed in with 'vodka' but Bradley revealed the correct answer was 'whisky'. The trio set a score of 17 in the final chase, which has been a winning number in the past. But the same couldn't be said for today as Shaun caught them with 18 seconds remaining.

The professional quizzer recognised the team's strength in his closing speech, but was forced to issue a warning to Sunny after he was reminded about his mix up with the question on spirits.

Shaun told the team: "Very good team. Unlucky in relation to the whisky and the vodka, that could've made a difference." The camera then panned to a devastated Sunny, who dropped his head on the table."

Spotting this, the chaser demanded: "Don't shake your head Sunny because you played really really well in that final chase."

Shaun added: "But at the end of the day, it's just another day at the office."

Presenter Bradley Walsh believes the team would have got the better of Shaun if Nathalie was also present in the final chase.

"I think it was all about the full house, as well. When you have a full house you can make mistakes in the final because you're under pressure. A full house would've helped, there's no question," Bradley declared.
