Midsomer Murders fans all said the same thing as an unexpected reunion sparked a frenzy on Tuesday (July 8).
The popular British mystery drama, which first aired on ITV in 1997, revolves around various murder cases occurring in the quaint villages of the fictional English county of Midsomer.
The series, which began airing on ITV in 1997, was adapted by Anthony Horowitz and Douglas Watkinson from the novels in the Chief Inspector Barnaby series by Caroline Graham.
During tonight's repeat episode, titled Happy Families, guests gathered at the home of Victor Karras (Stuart Milligan), who was celebrating his 70th birthday with a murder mystery party.
The immersive experience began when a waiter was found "dead", with a fake detective soon arriving to help the guests solve the murder, reports Manchester Evening News.
However, the jovial atmosphere quickly soured when Victor informed his wife that he was feeling unwell and decided to retire upstairs.
But as he ascended the staircase, he stumbled and fell, before being impaled on an Egyptian spear.
Initially, the guests believed this to be part of the game, but it was soon revealed that the board game manufacturer had fallen victim to cyanide poisoning.
DCI John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) and DS Jamie Winter (Nick Hendrix) promptly arrived to investigate the crime. However, their inquiry was hindered when a storm washed away their only mode of transport, leaving the detectives stranded with the suspects and the murderer.
While tuning into the latest episode, viewers were unexpectedly treated to a Jonathan Creek reunion that stole their attention. Stuart Milligan was reunited on screen with his old castmates Ade Edmondson and Caroline Quentin.
Ade took on the role of Hugo Welles, an actor portraying the detective in the murder mystery game, while Caroline played his on-screen wife, Helen, who was also involved in the immersive experience.
After watching the episode, several fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their surprise at the cameo appearances.
"Caroline Quentin and Stuart Milligan in tonight's episode of #MidsomerMurders. Waiting for Alan Davies to jump out from behind the curtain," one person wrote.

Another added: "It's a Jonathan Creek reunion tonight on #MidsomerMurders - Caroline Quentin, Ade Edmondson and Stuart Milligan. Excellent!"
A third said: "Love a #whddunnit as #MidsomerMurders is back on!! And with a stellar supporting cast - Ade Edmondson, Caroline Quentin and Stuart Milligan."
A fourth viewer echoed the sentiment saying: "Is this episode of Midsomer a forgotten Jonathan Creek episode?"
