Stockport LIVE: Police scramble to town centre with paramedics at scene near court

Police have scrambled to the centre of Stockport this afternoon.

A huge cordon is currently in place on Piccadilly in Stockport town centre.

The road, which runs between Stockport Council building Stopford House and Stockport Magistrates Court, has been taped off.

The nature of the incident is not yet clear.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been approached for comment.
