Triptii Dimri reached a career peak after her performance in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor, becoming one of the most in-demand young stars in Bollywood. However, the momentum faltered when she appeared in projects like Bad Newwz and Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which drew criticism and left many questioning her professional decisions.
In a recent conversation, actor and acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva, who has both trained and acted with Triptii, offered his perspective on her trajectory. He described her as a dedicated, sensitive and collaborative performer with no airs but acknowledged that her recent film choices did not serve her well. He noted that every actor faces the challenge of making difficult decisions in their career and learning to navigate those moments is part of the profession.
Saurabh Sachdeva likened the situation to even the best players occasionally failing to score, expressing confidence that Triptii Dimri has the resilience to make a strong comeback. He reflected on how even great actors, such as the late Irrfan Khan, have faced projects that didn’t meet expectations, often due to the subject matter or circumstances rather than lack of talent. He maintained that what truly matters is audiences continue to recognise the skill and presence of the performer.
Speaking more broadly about his students, Saurabh Sachdeva explained that only a few ultimately break through and their success often comes down to an inner drive and high personal stakes. He further added that his role was simply to guide them along the way.
Saurabh Sachdeva and Triptii recently collaborated on Dhadak 2, a campus-set drama exploring love across caste boundaries. The story follows Nilesh played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, a student from a reserved category background, and Vidhi portrayed by Triptii, a socially aware woman from a privileged family.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures, the film is positioned as a spiritual successor to Dhadak (2018) and serves as a faithful Hindi adaptation of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018).
