Meghan Markle's anniversary post on Instagram has drawn criticism from social media users for omitting a particular detail. The Duchess of Sussex marked her seventh wedding anniversary on by sharing a series of previously unseen pictures on her official Instagram account. Her post thanked all those "who have loved and supported us throughout our love story." Among the images shared were several pictures of Meghan and Prince Harry embracing. Other photos included one of the Duke cradling one of their children as a swaddled newborn, a baby scan labeled Archie, and a photo of Archie kissing Lili on the forehead. The post also featured notes, including a central one in Meghan's handwriting that read "Our love story."
However, some social media users called out the Duchess online for failing to explicitly mention her husband, Prince Harry, in the anniversary post. Some also questioned the approach of her brand, As Ever, which posted a separate anniversary message seemingly from the brand itself. Take a look at the posts here:
Captioning the post, Markle wrote: “Seven years of marriage.A lifetime of stories. Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story - we appreciate you. Happy anniversary! ❤️”
The post was accompanied by The Proclaimers’ hit track “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).”
Soon after Markle’s post, her brand, As Ever, shared a seperate post about the Sussex couple on its own Instagram account.
The other post included two photos: one of a pair of palm trees side by side, and another of Harry and Meghan gazing at each other with warm smiles. Both shots were captured by Meghan’s friend and credited photographer, Jake Rosenberg, who was also credited on the post.
It came with the caption: “Sometimes two is better than one. Wishing a very happy anniversary to our founder @meghan and her husband Prince Harry.”
What users said about Meghan markle’s anniversary post on Instagram
Some users took to social media platform X (earlier Twitter) to criticise the Duchess for not mentioning her husband by name in the post, and some even ridiculed her for “wishing herself a happy anniversary” from her brand’s account.

“She wished HERSELF happy anniversary in her post, she is so weird and out of touch it's really funny at this point,” another user wrote.
A third user wrote: “No photos with her mother Doria or her other black relatives. It's a collage of Me Me Me Meghan! 😂She's been supported only by bullies like herself.”
“This is the most bizarre & immature way for a 43 year old to say happy anniversary to her husband, who is not even mentioned or her love for him. Why would you run this as normal? She had vision boards as a girl. She’s a grown woman. It’s her classic clap back but done very oddly,” a fourth user noted.
