Tech billionaire Elon Musk ’s name has appeared in the highly controversial Jeffrey Epstein files , along with other well-known figures like Prince Andrew , the Duke of York, Trump ally Steve Bannon , and Peter Thiel.
On Friday, Democratic lawmakers released documents from the investigation into Epstein. These papers may show interactions between the disgraced financier and prominent conservatives, including Elon Musk, Steve Bannon, and Peter Thiel.
The six pages of documents, released with redactions, come from the batch given by the Justice Department to the House Oversight Committee. The committee is investigating how the sex-trafficking charges against Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019, were handled.
Epstein’s calendars, released by the committee’s Democratic minority, show a breakfast planned with Bannon, a close ally of Donald Trump , in February 2019. Other schedules mention a lunch with Thiel in November 2017 and a potential visit by Musk to Epstein’s private island in December 2014.
The documents show Musk as a possible visitor to Epstein's island, Little St James, on December 6, 2014—six years after Epstein had already been listed as a sex offender.
A 2000 manifest for Epstein’s plane includes Prince Andrew, whose links with Epstein are already well known. A financial disclosure released by Democrats also shows Epstein paying someone named “Andrew” for “Massage, Exercise, Yoga” that same year.
Earlier this year, Musk accused Trump on social media of being in the “Epstein files,” shortly after criticising his tax and spending policies and following his long hobnobbing with Trump and the DOGE exit from the administration.
Then in July, Musk said publicly: “How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?”
