New Delhi, April 21 U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrived in New Delhi on Sunday morning, marking his first official visit to India. Accompanied by his wife Usha Vance and their three children — Evan, Vivek, and Mirabel, the family is on a four-day tour of India. Upon arrival, Vice President Vance made a spiritual start to his trip by visiting the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in the national capital.

High-Security Arrangements in Delhi

Owing to the stature of the visiting dignitary, security has been significantly tightened across New Delhi. The Delhi Police issued traffic advisories and deployed additional personnel at sensitive points to ensure smooth movement for the visiting delegation.

The Vance family touched down at Palam Air Force Station at 10:00 AM, where they were warmly welcomed by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The itinerary for the U.S. Vice President and his family also includes visits to Jaipur and Agra, showcasing India’s cultural richness.

Strategic Talks with Prime Minister Modi

Vice President Vance is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the evening. According to official sources, both leaders will hold strategic discussions on trade relations, tariff policies, regional security, and strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting is expected to further advance India-U.S. cooperation across multiple domains.

Prime Minister Modi will also host a formal dinner for the Vice President and his family, highlighting the significance of the growing Indo-U.S. partnership.
